The Ontario Rat-3 Skinner 8661 is a solid survival knife and an alternative to the original Rat-3 model. This skinner-shaped blade is made from 1075 carbon steel. This is a strong type of steel that is easy to sharpen. The extremely sustainable powder coating on the blade protects it from the increased corrosion sensitivity of the carbon steel. That is why we recommend you keep this knife dry and possibly slightly greasy. The wonderful properties of this steel guarantee a lifetime of enjoyment. The knife is enhanced with a micarta handle The handle feels slightly coarse which is great because it is comfortable to hold and offers enough grip.
